Celebrities has been a sought-after since they have creating a great movies like movie star and celebrity poker player Johnny Depp that has been mentioned as possibly the greatest actor living; apparently he's not too bad at poker either, and he takes his cards as seriously as his performances. While on the set of the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean", Johnny Depp engaged in numerous poker games with cast and crew to pass the time off camera. Among his companions in the card games were the members of the indie rock band We Were Scientists.





The band members were starstruck to be interacting with Johnny Depp on a personal level, and it seemed to them he was as much in awe of their music as they of his acting. He impressed bass player Chris Cain with the idea that " he's always dreamed of being a rock star." But, as the game progressed, the band members found themselves taking a beating at Johnny Depp's hands. Now Johnny Depp is claiming the band collectively owes him $28,000. In their defense, the band says they weren't able to focus on poker due to the excitement of meeting and playing with Johnny Depp.

Lead singer Keith Murray said they were not the only participants fleeced by Johnny Depp, asserting that there were rumors that Orlando Bloom had lost over $800,000 to Depp. Still, Orlando Bloom's debt may have been settled, and neither the presence of other debts nor any light-headedness the band felt in Depp's presence would excuse a legal debt.

About Johnny Depp: Johnny Depp once said of himself: "I'm not Mr. Blockbuster." Nonetheless, his movies usually fare quite well with audiences and critics alike, only not always in tandem. Before his stardom, Johnny Depp joined a rock band called The Flame, with whom he toured the Florida nightclub circuit.
