Ruby Capote is a newspaper columnist who writes humorously about things that happen around her. Often using her friends and her day-to-day encounters as her material. Ruby wants out of her current relationship and decides getting a job in New York City, leaving Doug in Boston, is the way to do it, a perfect passive-aggressive maneuver. So she sends off her resume and when she doesn't hear back, she sends off a letter with a six-pack. This time she gets a reply and it's clear she has found her kindred spirit in her new boss.
Though it's a nickel ante game, as time goes on, the stakes raised are more than the nickels on the table. While all of her friends seem to be willing to take risks and thus eventually get what they want in their lives, Ruby is $27 dollars down, in nickels. Ruby manages her relationships like her poker game, folding early so she doesn't have to find out if she lost. But now there is something at stake for Ruby and her girlfriends know it, even if Ruby doesn't. It turns out that her new boss, Michael, just might be Mr. Right. But can Ruby play the game out?

South Carolina Poker Bill passes Subcommittee
The Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act of 2006 made it challenging for US players to find a game of poker. However, that difficulty may soon be coming to an end for residents of Charleston, South Carolina.
State Rep. Wallace Scarborough has been pushing a bill that would legalize small, social games of poker. These are the games of coffee tables, kitchens and basements in which the house doesn’t take a cut (or rake.) Under current law, such games are illegal. The bill has already passed a subcommittee and is expected to go to a full Judiciary Committee soon.
There is a complex and rocky legal landscape regarding poker in the United States. Fans of the game will find this news encouraging, underlining the fact that there are many who support poker and are actively working towards obtaining legal status for the game at all venues, on and offline.
Jayde Nicole: Poker Playboy Hottie
Jayde Nicole, the 2008 Playboy Playmate of the Year, has recently taken to the felt with an appearance on the PokerStars.net Million Dollar Challenge. PokerNews caught up with the 23-year-old to discuss how she was introduced to poker, who'd she'd rather bluff, and what she would do with a World Series of Poker bracelet.
Jayde Nicole first started to play poker with her boyfriend Brody Jenner who loves poker. He has big poker games from time to time, and Jayde took to the game right away. She then met All In Magazine publisher Kasey Thompson and she agreed to do the "All In Magazine Project" where each month she will be trained with a different professional poker player and track all her progress and results in the pages of the magazine. She was first trained by Jamie Gold, then trained by the Online Player of the Year David " The Maven" Chicotsky, and next up was Daniel Negreanu.
Daniel Negreanu is one of her favorite poker players because of the way he plays the game and also a Canadian like Jayde. So many poker players seem to have big egos, and Daniel is so sweet and fun to be around.
Jayde Nicole is getting serious about poker and plans to take her game to the professional poker circuit. And she is planning to play two to three poker tournaments at online casinos each week. She also playing in an Ante Up for Africa event this week, and then playing in the PokerStars Caribbean Challenge in the Bahamas in January.
