It seems like it's been a while since a high-profile celebrity couple ended up in divorce court. Although they are the hottest Hollywood couple at the moment after spectacular wedding ceremonies in Italy and Los Angeles this year - but with odds like this, someone somewhere thinks their love won't last. There have been no shortage of rumors about TomKat - that their marriage was arranged and made by contract?

But in this year, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have decided to try for another baby in the New Year as they are keen for their three-year-old daughter Suri to have a sibling.

About Tom Cruise: Counted as one of most successful movie stars in Hollywood, he is the only actor to have six consecutive $100 million plus blockbusters on his resume. His first leading role in a blockbuster movie was 1983's Risky Business. From then on, he starred in many top films, becoming an iconic celebrity of Hollywood.

Tom Cruise arrived in Los Angeles in 1981 and met Paula Wagner, an agent at Creative Artists Agency. In his search for fame, Tom Cruise attended drama classes and auditioned for various TV commercials in his youth. His efforts were unsuccessful, but they led to his landing a small role in the 1981 movie Endless Love.
His first major role in Taps (1981) originally consisted of one line, but the director was so taken with Tom Cruise's performance that he decided to offer him the third-biggest role in the movie.

At first, Tom Cruise was afraid of the challenge associated with such a role, but he later accepted it. His experience from his primitive roles in Endless Love and Taps landed him the starring role in Losin' It (1983).

While his popularity took a beating after he starred in bombs like All the Right Moves (1983) and Legend (1985), Tom Cruise's career began to solidify during his signature hit of the 1980s, Top Gun (1986).

About Katie Holmes: Katie Holmes' movies haven't done much at the box office, but her marriage to Tom Cruise has certainly gained her much fame, especially since she's 16 years his junior. And after giving birth to their first child, Suri, paparazzi became a staple in Katie Holmes' life.

She's more famous for hanging out with Victoria Beckham than for making movie. Surprisingly enough, this David Beckham movie idea wasn't one of the reasons why Paramount decided to get rid of Tom Cruise; the idea has apparently been optioned and a script is apparently being written – and if that wasn't enough, silent mother and pretend virgin Katie Holmes is currently the frontrunner to play Victoria Beckham. Katie Holmes is perfect to play a young Posh and has been working on her accent.

Weeks after ending her engagement with actor Chris Klein, Katie Holmes began in early 2005 a highly publicized relationship with actor Tom Cruise, sixteen years her senior. In June, two months after they first met, she became engaged to Cruise. Their relationship has made Holmes the subject of international media attention, much of it negative, the press speculating that the relationship was a publicity stunt to promote the couple's films.

Many reports commented negatively about the interest of Holmes, raised Roman Catholic, in Cruise's religion, Scientology. The couple announced Holmes was pregnant in October 2005; on April 18, 2006, she gave birth to a baby girl, Suri Cruise. On November 18, 2006, she and Cruise were married in Italy.
