With EPT Copenhagen Main Event well underway, and the LA Poker Classic in full throttle, what better way to relax than a quick look at Charlotte Van Brabander, member of team Pokerstars Friends.
For those of you who don't know, Pokerstars friends are talented professional poker players, who aren't really members of Team Pokerstars pro, but who still get sponsored to play in the biggest tournaments around the world. We are not exactly sure about the difference between a PS friend and a PS pro, but as long as it adds more poker girls to the mix, we won't be asking too many questions.
Charlotte Van Brabander, known online as Sjlot, is a professional poker player born and raised in Belgium. What might come as a surprise to most of you is that, before getting into poker, Charlotte was a professional Counter Strike gamer. She even formed a CS team comprised of herself and four other girls, eventually getting sponsored and making it all the way into the Electronic Sports World Cup tournament. We have a feeling she and Liv Boeree would get along just fine.
As a poker player, Charlotte Van Brabander is still waiting for her big break. She plans to play in as many of this year's UKIPT events and EPT ladies events as possible, so hopefully she'll get something going soon. One thing is certain: with Pokerstars backing her, Vanessa Rousso giving her lessons at her Big Slick Bootcamps, and the competitive instinct that she's nourished throughout her years of playing Counterstrike, we could be looking at the next Annette Obrestad here. Let's wish her the best!
