2011 EPT Copenhagen - girls out of nowhere

It seems that we might have spoken too quickly when we concluded Annette Obrestad was the only poker girl left in the EPT Copenhagen Main Event. Seems as if a few women came out of nowhere, some of them vanishing just as quickly as they have appeared. Let's take a look at the current status of the tournament.

Unfortunately for everyone, the girls' highest hope for a solid performance, Annette Obrestad, was eliminated from the tournament by Lars Krogh, who's pocket aces dominated Annette's AJ without mercy. This adds to her line of recent losses, but good times will definitely follow soon - they always do.

One of the girls we apparently missed was Xuan Liu. Currently residing in Toronto, Canada, Xuan has been around playing live poker tournaments ever since late 2009. She actually took down the Pokerstars.com IPT San Remo No Limit Hold 'Em event in December 2011, outlasting a field of 153 and earning a $68,857 prize. Her total bankroll is estimated at slightly above $90,000, excluding any cash games winnings. Jenny Chu would be proud of her! Xuan was eliminated from the EPT Copenhagen Main Event yesterday (Day 2) when her pre-flop attempt at a 3bet shove against cut-off raiser Johan van Til's was met by a call from Johan. Liu turned out to be holding T7 , which stood no chance against Til's AQ. The board brought no surprises.

Next on the list is Pernille Ravn. She actually seems to be the last woman standing in the event at the moment, going into Day 3 with a short, yet still playable stack of 76,900 chips. Blinds are at 1,500/3,000, just so you know. Pernille is called the Dannish poker queen, largely because of her beauty, and has been around the poker tournament scene since early 2005, just like Vanessa Rousso. Not many achievements to her name as of this moment, with a few WSOP appearances and a total of $30,000 won live. Let's see if things change for her in Copenhagen. Oh and, if you are interested, you should check out her personal website - it's in Dannish, but if you use Google Translate, you should do fine.
