Evelyn Ng – Eveybabee on Poker

Evelyn Ng | Girls on Poker

Evelyn Ng was an unknown poker player until she was invited to the 2005 World Poker Tour Ladies Night competition. Eveybabee finished 2nd in the event, though she was a major underdog as an unknown in a field with such women stars as Annie Duke, Jennifer Harman and Kathy Leibert.

Since that time, Evelyn Ng has appeared at more and more poker tournaments, though her only notable money finish was a 2007 $25,000 poker tournament at the Bellagio. The career Evelyn Ng poker winnings are over $300,000 for tournament poker. Evelyn Ng continues to play in cash games, which is where Ng played for 10 years before first entering a tournament on the poker circuit.

Evelyn Ng started her gambling career in the pool halls of Toronto. Evelyn hustled "private school kids" for their lunch money, according to one interview, from the time she was about 14 (1989). When she was 16 years old, Evelyn Ng met Daniel Negreanu, who was at the time also a young billiards player. The two became friends and had a relationship. Though the relationship has ended, Evelyn Ng and Daniel Negreanu remain good friends.

Joining Daniel Negreanu on the professional poker tournament was still a decade away, though. Evelyn Ng first experience in the poker world was as a poker dealer in Toronto. From this, she learned to maintain concentration at the poker table -- such as keeping track of the pot and making certain her opponents make the proper bet.

Evelyn Ng started playing poker when she was 18, as an outgrowth of her job as a dealer. She describes herself as playing Limit Texas Hold'Em in cash games exclusively. Evelyn Ng played in cash games for about the first ten years of her poker life, until the 2005 WPT Ladies Night event. Since then, Evelyn Ng has been turning up at more poker tournaments, though she has yet to match the success of her original appearance on the WPT.

Evelyn Ng describes her poker playing style as a "selectively aggressive". Evelyn Ng's aggressive raises helped her finish 2nd on the 2005 World Poker Tour Ladies Night, which was a boon to her poker career. Ng also claims to have lots of smooth poker chip tricks, which is supposedly a sign of a person who's been around a poker table a lot.

Evelyn Ng has made several television appearances related to poker. Evybabee was on an episode of Criss Angel Mindfreak. Criss Angel tried to use his mindfreak abilities to persuade Evelyn to pick a losing hand. Criss Angel won three hands out of three, proving that (once again) the hand is quicker than the eye.

Evelyn Ng also appeared on the SpikeTV series, King of Vegas, where players play in four different casino games, including Texas Hold'Em and Blackjack. Evelyn also appeared as a poker croupier on Casino Casino, a U.K. game show.

Evelyn Ng is a member of Team Bodog, along with her friend David Williams. She has also appeared as one of the featured players on the video game, Stacked with Daniel Negreanu

Maria Ho - Professional Poker Player

Maria Ho Poker

Maria Ho is originally from Taipei in Taiwan. At the young age of four, Maria Ho arrived to the United States with her family, where they lived close to Los Angeles, in California. From an early age, her love of music, singing and the performing arts became quite clear. Perhaps no-one in her family would have guessed that her life would lead towards the game of poker, but an attraction to some sort of performing was evident even as a young girl.

Maria learned how to play poker in 2002, while she was at college in California and she played with her friends at home games. In 2005, Maria finished her studies and obtained a degree from the University of California San Diego with a major in Communications and a minor in Law. Following this, as far as poker goes, she played mainly at low limit poker pursuits. After gaining a bit of experience in the game and some confidence, she progressed to higher risk poker cash games and then decided to make the move to become a professional poker player.

From just a short time involved in professional poker tournaments, Maria's brief career history boasts cashes at five various World Series of Poker (WSOP) events and two cashes from different World Poker Tour (WPT) events.

In 2007, Maria seemed to make her mark on the international poker scene. At the WSOP Main Event, she became the last woman remaining in the field of 6358 competitors. This is no simple feat for any player and here she made a name for herself in the professional poker arena. She came in 38th position in this prestigious poker event and earned the impressive amount of $237,865 in prize winnings.

In 2009, Maria just missed out on reaching the final table at the WSOP $10,000 Limit Hold'Em event. She was very close but eventually finished in 11th place and earned $41,040 for her efforts. In the same year she also cashed in at the WSOP Ladies No Limit Championship, finishing with winnings of $2,084. Also in the year 2009, Maria cashed in at the WPT LA Poker Classic, at which she earned winnings of $32,740 at the No Limit Hold'Em tournament.

Last news from Maria Ho was she and her fellow poker player Tiffany Michelle joined The Amazing Race. Filming for the show began in July 2009 and began airing in September 2009. They came in sixth place in the race after being unable to complete a detour. And currently still going active on some poker tournaments.

Tiffany Michelle | Girls On Poker

Tiffany Michelle, the hot poker girl known as "Hot Chips" because of her role as the hottest young female in the poker community. Her grandfather and brother taught her to play texas holdem poker when she was a child, but she started professionally in the year 2005.

Born and raised in Los Angeles Tiffany Michelle began her career at the early age of ten. Her talent on singing and dancing made her a performer on stage in theatrical shows and toured across the nation. Tiffany Michelle is also a certified beauty queen. She joined and won in different beauty pageant like Miss Teen Newhall, Miss Teen Santa Clarita Valley, and was a finalist in the Miss Teen California pageant where she won the Miss Congeniality award. She completed a two-year program in theater from College of the Canyons after graduating in high school. She also attended UCLA where in she majored in film and television.

In 2005, Tiffany got back into poker by playing some of her actor friends in Hollywood. Even though she cleaned up regularly, she has stated they kept her around because they liked having a girl at the table. She played in cash games for about a year. It was during this time that she began to take the game seriously and pay attention to other players. Soon after, she entered her first tournament in Las Vegas at Harrah’s Casino, playing for the BombshellPoker Team. They had been looking for another pretty face and contacted her after they heard that she played poker. Tiffany did well enough at that tournament that she participated in several more, smaller events. She even played in a few charity events.

In 2006, she got a job with Bluff Radio’s broadcast team providing coverage for the World Series of Poker on Sirius satellite radio. After that she became an on-camera host for PokerNews.com and covered the World Series of Poker, the World Poker Tour, European Poker Tour Grand Final, and the World Series of Poker Europe. While she worked as a host for PokerNews, she continued to play online, in Los Angeles, and at various tournaments. She even appeared during the fourth season of GSN’s The World Series of Blackjack.

In 2008, Tiffany gained instant fame and notoriety at the 2008 World Series of Poker. At the $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’Em main event, Tiffany was looking like she might make history. The field was a staggering 6,844 competitors. Tiffany fought her way through and by the seventh day was in third place in chips with only 27 players remaining. She was the last woman standing and many hoped she would become the first woman to win a WSOP Main Event. It wasn’t in the cards and Tiffany busted out in 17th place. She took home $334,534 and a great deal of attention.

Tiffany also drew some controversy and criticism from her WSOP appearance. PokerStars had paid for her buy-in into the main event and for the first few days of the event, she wore clothing displaying the PokerNews logo. Before the final day of the event, after she started to gain media attention for her performance, she was approached by and made a deal with UltimateBet.com, whose logo suddenly appeared on her gear. After she busted out, PokerNews accused her of selling out and failing to represent the company that paid for her buy-in. Tiffany claimed that even though they provided her entry fee, there was no exclusive contract. The matter is currently being investigated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commision.

Courtney Friel - WPT IV Poker Hostess

Courtney Friel | Girls On Poker

Courtney Friel, the smart and sexy poker hostess on the fourth season of the World Poker Tour. Friel is actually an all around TV reporter and has previously worked as a correspondent for America's Most Wanted on FOX, E! News Live on E! Entertainment Television, and Trackers on the Oxygen Channel.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 22nd, 1980, Friel grew up in a Philadelphia suburb along with her two sisters. Her early goal in life was to be a television weather girl, and she spent hours producing shows in Methacton High School’s TV studio. She was cast in a Love’s Baby Soft perfume commercial on MTV, and that helped land her a role on Kid TV, a news program seen in schools across the country, during their Student Produced Week.

The beautiful blonde joins WPT in Season IV as the glamorous guide through the exciting, action packed world of Texas Holdem. Friel will take her place alongside commentators Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, illuminating viewers on the lifestyle of poker's best players and revealing tips and facts about the game.

Courtney doesn't have any experienced in playing poker but despite her inexperience, she is very willing to learn poker as much as possible, so that she knows it as well as she knows reporting. She is looking forward to interviewing the players and will no doubt win them over and tease them into giving her a few tips! It is undoubted that Courtney will be a great success as the new World Poker Tour host, and will have even greater visibility through modeling for gambling magazines and online poker rooms.

2005 was a big year for Courtney. She married her Husband, Carter Evans, who was working as a freelance News and Feature Reporter in the San Diego and Los Angeles markets. She was also hired as the host for Season IV of the World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel, taking over for Shana Hiatt. She was well liked by both the players on the tour and the television audience. Although she had virtually no experience in poker, she attended a WPT Boot Camp, where she was a fast learner. She even won the first tournament she ever played in, a Boot Camp student tournament, where she bested commentator and professional poker player Mike Sexton. After one season as the WPT hostess, she moved on and was replaced by the Season 5 hostess, Sabina Gadecki.

Although she enjoyed her brief respite in the poker world, it was clearly just a stepping stone for her career. On her website biography, she mentions her work with the WPT only in passing, and focuses on her work as a broadcast journalist, where she has extensive experience for a person of her age. Her long term career goal was to land a spot on the big stage, with a national network, as a reporter or anchor. In 2007, Fox came calling, and she jumped at the opportunity.

Jennifer "The Unabombshell" Tilly

Jennifer Tilly | Girls On Poker

Jennifer Tilly is the perfect example of a poker hottie, as she’s both an Oscar-nominated actress and World Series of Poker bracelet winner. Having been voted as one of the “25 Sexiest Women in Hollywood” by Celebrity Sleuth, the curvy Tilly is equally famous for her little girl voice, impressive cleavage and outstanding poker skills.

Jennifer Tilly was involved in a number of poker tournaments, but most assumed she was just another celebrity poker player dabbling in the game. Those opinions quickly changed when Tilly won a World Series of Poker bracelet in June of 2005. The win came during the Ladies’ No-Limit Texas Hold’em event, and walked away with $158,625 in winnings after outlasting a field of over 600 players.

Three months later, she won the World Poker Tour Ladies Invitational Tournament in Los Angeles. She has since competed on Celebrity Poker Showdown, Poker Royale, Poker Superstars, Pro-Am Poker Equalizer and the Ultimate Blackjack Tour. In February of 2008, she placed 12th in the WPT No Limit Hold’em Championship, which was good enough to win $61,610. Her live tournament winnings are now in excess of $450,000.

Jennifer Tilly take advantages of an aggressive style that can be daunting. She manage to do well in tournament play. She’s an exceptionally intelligent celebrity gone sexy poker hottie who uses her smarts in a sagacious manner. She’s gone from being a celebrity poker player to a professional in a relatively short amount of time. And she’s gone from being a professional into retirement in an even shorter amount of time.

Tilly has become a regular face at major poker tournaments, and this hot female poker player is highly respected for her play. Her acting career now takes a backseat to poker, and she’s even dating poker pro Phil “Unabomber” Laak, who is 14 years her junior. Due to their relationship, many on the circuit simply refer to her as “The Unabombshell.”

Expect to see Jennifer around the poker rooms a lot more in the future. She said, "I'm hooked on poker. I'm not going to stop playing until I lost all my money."

Carmel Petresco – Aggressive Poker Pro

Carmel Petresco | Girls On Poker

Carmel Petresco is a new female poker player on the rise and began her professional career only just a couple of years ago. She grew up in Romania in Eastern Europe and moved to New York. Carmel Petresco traveled a lot as a child and feels that this gave her the ability to adapt to new situations, which is a useful skill in poker.

Petresco’s first inclined to poker was through online casino games. At first, she was watching her male friends playing poker online. Being interested, Camel Petresco started reading several books on high-stakes poker, including the Bible Of Poker especially the Doyle Brunson's Super/System. She started playing online poker in small Sit N Go games until she had a decent-sized bankroll built up. After that she began to play in tournaments and lately has made the move to cash games.

Before becoming a professional poker player, Petresco had a small business as a personal shopper and wardrobe stylist. She admit that poker has been somewhat of a calling for her and it is what she was meant to do. Petresco’s holy grail is to win the World Series of Poker or any type of bracelet.

Carmel Petresco is a live poker tournament event player and has played poker since 2004. Her poker tournament results and statistics including her 1st place finish, a 4 final table appearances, and 13 in-the-money finishes for $138,584 in total poker tournament event earnings over the years.

Carmel Petresco in vogue, has a poker tournament rank of 5459 overall games including her 4861 in No Limit Hold'em, not ranked in Limit Hold'em and not ranked in the Pot Limit Hold'em.

At the 2008 World Series of Poker, she proved that she was not just a pretty face at the table. Her aggressive style of play paid off for her. At one point she was holding $80,000 chips while the average stack was around $19,000. As other female poker players began to drop out, the media began to focus on who would be the ‘last woman standing’. Although a favorite, she didn’t make it to the final table. Out of a field of over 6,000 entries, she ended with a respectable finish. Her skills at the cards and being a pretty face at the table gained her much attention.

Carmel has stated that she does not think being an attractive woman in a male-dominated sport carries any advantage. Being a woman at the table makes one a target for sexists remarks and rude behavior. Her opinion is that men naturally view women as soft and if a woman flashes her charms while at the poker table, then they must be a soft player as well. There is no respect given. The only way to earn respect is to be aggressive and win.
